Wednesday, September 4, 2019 A Good Question In an old (Feb. 4, 2019) column which is still posted on the Guardian's website, Jill Abrams (NYT ex-executive editor) quotes an Alexandria Ocasio Cortez tweet which I reproduce to the left because, even though she meant it to be rhetorical, I think it's a good question. If the U.S., contrary to its propaganda, is a capitalist dictatorship, one would suppose that its richest capitalists would think of themselves as members of its Central Politbureau and it would never occur to them that they would need to "work their way up." "Up" for them is merely one step up into the Central Politburo's Standing Committee and from there to General Secretary, i.e., the Presidency.
