Still Overlooked: Rosa Luxemburg, Who Opposed WW1 in Germany and Was Imprisoned For It
Luxemburg, a Marxist of Polish Jewish origin, was a founder of the Communist Party of Germany, a party staunchly opposed to the Nazis. In a pamphlet, written while in prison, she coined the slogan, "Socialism or Barbarism." She was murdered on January 15, 1919 by political precursors of the Nazi Party.
