This is a drawing I made of a scene in the 1958 movie Equinox Flower [Higanbana], directed by Yasujiro Ozu.

In this scene, which occurs near the beginning of the movie, the character Shukichi Mikami, played by Chishu Ryu, visits his old classmate, Wataru Hirayama, in his office. Mikami is having a problem with his rebellious 20-something daughter, who has left home and is living with a musician and working in a bar in Tokyo. In this scene, Mikami is asking Hirayama to visit the bar to see how his daughter Fumiko is doing.
